How To Make Avocado Fries In Air Fryer

Note: All air fryers cook a little differently. This recipe was made using a 5.8 qt basket style Cosori air fryer. If you are using a different brand of air fryer, make sure you do a “test run” of this recipe to see if you need to adjust the cooking time.

Variations

Dipping sauces are a great way to add different flavors to this recipe. I think that ranch dressing, BBQ sauce, or even your favorite hot sauce or spicy sauce are the perfect flavor enhancers. Add a little bit of parmesan cheese into the panko mixture for a simple salty addition. Squeeze a little bit of lime juice over the top of the avocados after they’re cooked in the air fryer. This gives a tasty citrus flavor! (Lemon juice works well, too!) You can also use pork rinds in place of the panko bread crumbs as well to turn these into keto avocado fries.

Do I need to spray my air fryer basket with cooking spray?

I think it’s always a good idea to add an extra layer of nonstick spray. When you’re air frying, the last thing that you want to have happen is to take off any of the crunchy coating!

How do you know when an avocado is ripe?

Give the avocado a squeeze. If it’s ripe, you’ll be able to squeeze it a little bit. It shouldn’t feel as hard as a rock. If it’s too mushy, that means that the avocados are too ripe to use. For this recipe to work, you need to make sure that you’re choosing a ripe avocado but a firm avocado. A very slight squeeze is what you’re looking for!

What pairs well with avocado fries?

Anything you want! To be honest, I gobble them up and never really pair them with anything. But I think that you could easily pair these up with fresh veggies or even as a fun partner to air fryer sweet potato fries!

How do you choose the best avocados to use the same day your purchase them?

Finding the perfect avocado isn’t a myth. It is possible. It may require you digging a bit in the avocado bin but it’s there - I promise. Find an avocado that is a darker color as that shows that it’s further along in the ripening process. You’ll also want to try one other little trick that can show you that an avocado is ready to use today. If you pick off the stem of the avocado, the coloring that you see is a great indicator. If the coloring is bright green, it’s not quite ripe. If it’s a darker green, this is the color that you’re looking for that shows you that avocado is ready to eat. And if the stem shows a grayish coloring, it’s WAY too ripe and move on! I think you’re going to see why this is one of my favorite air fryer recipes! Skip the deep fryer and find out what your air fryer is the way to make crispy and delicious dishes! Once you start to prep those avocado halves, your mouth is going to be watering and ready for your first bite! MORE AIR FRYER RECIPES:
