The cooking process has changed in my house when it comes to making hard boiled eggs. No longer do I actually use boiling water or heat up my oven. Now all I do is add the eggs to my air fryer basket, turn on the air fry option, and then walk away to finish unloading the dishwasher or doing some other motherly duty in the kitchen. If you haven’t made hard boiled eggs in the air fryer, you have to give this new method a shot. Not only are air fryer eggs easy, but you’ll love how hands-off this recipe is as well. The only little conundrum you’ll run into is “should these be called boiled eggs” or air fried eggs!? Regardless, this is an easy air fryer recipe you are sure to love. Once you’ve mastered these boiled eggs, make sure you try these fried eggs in the air fryer.

How does the Air Fryer Work?

Cooking with Air Fryers has made it easier to eat healthier without submerging your foods in oil. Air Fryers cook foods by using a heating element and a fan, and that circulating of heat and hot air is what helps cook the food and crisp it.  Air Fryers can cook with heat as high as 400° Fahrenheit/200° Celcius. Some air fryers may even cook to higher temps.

Why do my Air Fryer Eggs have brown spots?

You may notice that the outer shell of the eggs have brown spots on them after cooking. If this happens, it’s more than likely because the heating element wasn’t cleaned adequately before making the eggs, and those brown spots are a result of the air fryer still being a little dirty. However, don’t let those brown spots bother you. You’re peeling the shell so that part is not going to be consumed.

Ingredients:

Eggs You’ll probably find several different ways to make eggs in the air fryer, but this is by far the best way to make air fryer hard boiled eggs. You can use this recipe for both medium and large eggs. NOTE: I use a Cosori air fryer. To make these perfect hard boiled eggs, I do NOT preheat my air fryer. Your air fryer model and manufacturer may be different and you may need to adjust your cooking time accordingly.

How to Hard Boil Eggs in Air Fryer

Why do I need to place boiled eggs into a bowl of ice-cold water?

Placing the eggs into the ice bath helps bring the temperature of the eggs down, stops the eggs from cooking, and gets them closer to room temperature to make peeling the eggs easier.

Do I have to use an ice bath with air fryer hard boiled eggs?

NO! You can skip the step of using the ice bath. However, the trick is getting the eggs down to room temperature so if you have the time, just let the eggs sit and get to room temperature before you start peeling them for your recipes.

How do I store the remaining eggs?

Store remaining hard-boiled eggs in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 7 days.

What can I use the hard boiled eggs for?

Once you’ve made the eggs you can store them in the refrigerator for later use. Use them to make potato salad, egg salad, avocado egg salad, add them to your favorite salad at lunch, and more. This air fryer method cooks perfectly every single time and is great when you’re trying to make a quick breakfast that’s more hands off than the stove top. This is such a great recipe to use when you’re in the middle of making a weekly meal prep and need to use other kitchen appliances. You can be using your oven or grill to make chicken, your stovetop to make rice and greens, and then a little help of your air fryer to make eggs. Now you know how to make the perfect eggs! It’s definitely different than the traditional method for making eggs, but it works every single time I make them. MORE AIR FRYER RECIPES:
